 Focus on Knowing the Customer Well
Joel believes that Munson Lakes Nutrition (MLN) makes a big difference for his customers. “We offer a wide array of products and services to match their specific needs,” he says. “On-site feed manufacturing gives us the flexibility to match the demands of each customer’s unique business.”
During his quarter century of service, Joel has built close relationships that link MLN to customers. He maximizes opportunities to get to know his customers really well and he loves to interact with farm families to handle production challenges and solve problems.
“I know the history of each herd and each farm,” Joel says. “That enables me to recommend feeding strategies and suggest ways to improve cow comfort. I keep an eye on their production and we frequently talk about their goals and ways to attain them. Customers know that I’m in the business with them for the long run. ”

Joel and his wife, Kristen, have been married 32 years and have two children: Valerie Jo (Nathan) Johnson, and David (Leah) Pettit; and a grandson, Lance Johnson. Joel graduated from Howard Lake High School, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State College. Joel worked one year for Farmland Industries Insurance Services. He joined Munson Lakes Nutrition in 1982. His interests include hunting, fishing, woodworking, golf, travel, and various church activities.
